Do you remember the wonderful food at our accommodation in the mountains, and the views of the mountains and rivers of the Apennine region? The cities of Lucca and Modena filled with the historical buildings and shopping at the markets. It often filled me with wonder how their stalls virtually popped up from their van and everything was cleared away by midday, so they can go home for a cooked lunch. It is their tradition. I loved how the paesani (local country people) were so friendly and willing to open their doors for a friendly chat. I certainly miss it, so I will go back.
